According to Australia's The Daily Telegraph, Santas across Sydney are rebelling against attempts to ban their traditional greeting of "ho, ho, ho" in favour of "ha, ha, ha".
Recruitment firm Westaff - which supplies hundreds of Santas across the country - has told its trainees that the "ho ho ho" phrase could frighten children and could even be derogatory to women.
This is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. But hey, let's not stop the political correctness campaign here. Let's go all the way with this:
Banned: Don Ho
Accepted: Don Ha
Banned: Tally ho!
Accepted: Tally ha!
Banned: Hotel
Accepted: Ha-tel
Banned: Hobo
Accepted: Ha-bo
Banned: Ho-down
Accepted: Ha-down
Banned: Garden Hoe
Accepted: Garden Ha
Finally, to protect the children and to remain non-offensive to women, modern humans will no longer be known as "homosapiens"...
...we are now "ha-mosapiens".
Honestly, it seems more fitting.
