Gloomy Predictions For '07

I was just reading in the newspaper how the majority of us see gloom and doom for the U.S. in 2007...we think there will be another terrorist attack, we think there will be another big natural disaster, and we think gas prices are going to rise more than ever before.

Wow...we appear to be a depressed bunch. My mom always said "think rainbows and butterflies, not gloom and doom". Of course, it doesn't help that the pollsters ask those questions, and then report it as what our main concerns are.

Why don't they ask more cheery questions like:
-Do you see yourself moving up in your company this year?
-Do you plan to expand your family this year?
-Where do you plan to vacation this year?

Things are going to be fine for us this year. Mother Nature tends to be calmer than forecasters predict, and the terrorists always talk a bigger game than they've got.

What we need to realize is that the newspapers, news networks and the news pollsters make their money (and sell headlines) off the gloom and doom. That's why they keep us focused on it.

We just need to relax...2007 will be rainbows and butterflies.
